Applications
The earth contact resistance test is a basic safety test prescribed in many IS standards. The PE 900R checks the contact resistance between accessible metal parts of an appliance and its earth pin by passing a high current and measuring the resultant voltage drop.
It can also be used to assess the resistance of electrical contacts in circuit breakers, isolators and busbars. This helps identify loose connections, eroded contact surfaces, contaminated contacts and corroded contacts that can cause higher losses and reduced current-carrying capacity.
