PRESSURE REGULATOR TEST SYSTEM

These test systems are used for testing gas welding equipment like pressure regulators and pressure regulators with flow metering device. It follows the IS 6901 and ISO 2503 standard.

STABILITY OF FLOW TEST

The test apparatus is used to check the flow of the pressure regulator, whether it conforms to its standard.
This apparatus is designed as per IS 6901 norms (fig 6).
An SS container is used. It has a provision for input and output connection of gas.
A glass vial is placed upside down with the help of holding arrangement. This gas is then supplied to the cylindrical vessel containing water. The amount of gas flowing in the vial is equal to the displacement of the water in the container.

EXTERNAL LEAKAGE TEST

The test apparatus is used to check the external leakage of the gas regulator.
This apparatus is designed as per IS 6901 (Fig 8).
It consists of a water tank filled with water having provision to hold the test tube and funnel.
The cylinder, funnel and other necessary items will be made from borosilicate glass due to its physical properties.
Gas with the stated pressure as read on the gauge is passed through the inlet, any leakage of gas will be captured through the funnel and be measured in the test tube (cylinder) placed above the funnel.
